1969 Honda CL 175 Restoration

In the late 60's, these CL 175's appeared as lightweight versions of the 350 and big brother to the 160.  Darn near 20 HP!

This example was left outside for years and had some surface rust all over the frame.  We took it down to the Frame.

The pistons were seized, so we rebored to  a 181cc with new pistons and fresh bearings.  This bike had only 900 miles!

Here is a good pic of the rust we were dealing with.  It was enough to completely disassemble the frame.

You can see the damage on the handlebars from the crash it had been in.
